In the face of organized efforts to abolish their trade, sex workers have been advocating for recognition of their rights, especially full decriminalization. Join us as Desmond Ravenstone – director of NCSF’s Sex Work Project – outlines the history behind this movement, facts and fallacies surrounding commercial sex, and what individuals and groups can do to help.

Desmond Ravenstone has been an activist and educator in various issues, including sexual freedom, for more than thirty years. A graduate of Oberlin College, his degree in sociology and anthropology included research into the birth of the sex workers’ rights movement. Along with his work for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF), he is administrator of Clients of Sex Workers Allied for Change (CoSWAC), and a founding member of the Massachusetts Sex Worker Allies Network (MASWAN).
