Meeting Reports:
Dominant Men/submissive women
by EnticeFear
One fast way
to get a discussion going at TES is to say “Monogamy is not in a
woman’s best interest” and that is what happened at the most recent
meeting of the Dominant Men/submissive women special interest group.
Master Jim’s
presentation on polyamoury began with the thesis that true monogamy
really doesn’t exist (even among the non-humans of the animal world),
and polyamoury, and the community it builds, is better for women
in both the short and long term.
To support his
statement that monogamy is not prevalent among humans, Master Jim
used statistics showing one in two marriages end in divorce. He
pointed out people are likely to have several partners, just not
all at the same time: serial monogamy rather than lifetime monogamy.
He concluded that women who devote themselves to raising children
and remaining outside the paid labor force often get the short end
of the stick because a man must leave the family to be involved
with any other woman.
Using a one
man/several women model he reasoned women in polyamourous relationships
have an opportunity for a longer lasting relationship since the
man is not forced to leave in order to be involved with other women.
Polyamoury women can have more help with child rearing, and more
free time (since they are not the sole companion available to the
man). Master Jim sounded very much like the economics professor
he was when he said "polyamoury provides women with a much better
chance to maximize their satisfaction", no pun intended of course.
Master Jim supported
his thesis by pointing out that monogamy or sexual exclusivity was
conceived by men to control women, and was part of the paradigm
that views women in general as chattel of men.
There was some
strong, but respectful opposition, including the position that men
are just as likely to want monogamy for the sake of love as women,
and polyamoury divides economic resources rather than increasing
them, thus is a detriment to women who want to raise children.
The discussion
ran long, and the opinions were varied and lively.
Predicament Bondage
by Kate
Last Wednesday, Domina Skye showed the Bondage SIG all about predicament bondage. After a brief discussion of safety issues associated with this type of edge play, she demonstrated a number of different types of predicament, as well as discussing variations thereof, starting with some lovely hair bondage that forced her bottom to choose between having his hair pulled - or his balls. Other demonstrations used gravity and muscle fatigue to cause her bottoms pain. For her grand finale, she even pitted her lovely bottoms against each other!
