Once again
TES had a great outreach table at Folsom Street East. We all talked
to a lot of people about TES and the scene. Giving out free copies
of issue number 38 (real TES members on the cover and real TES members'
contributions inside) proved to be quite popular.
Thanks to all
the volunteers that staffed the table: Ms Tee, Josh, Jessica, Catelynn,
Flagg, Wes, Michelle, Neptune, Jeff, Michael The Artist, Erica and
me!

ALL I NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN NOVICE GROUP:
A seminar on basics proved very advanced.

The Novice
group met for a seminar on "basic skills" which proved to be very
informative. The evening began with a special guest named Aleaya,
a frequent traveler who opened with a detailed explanation of rope
bondage. She included a handout taken from Lolita's web page (members.aol.com/lolitassc/toys.html)
that describes the various ropes used (nylon, soft braid cotton),
proper care & cleaning of ropes, and safety tips every scene
player should know (NEVER leave a bottom tied up alone, ALWAYS have
safety scissors handy for emergency escapes, etc.). Next, the novice
group's host, Lady Red, discussed the art of mummification. Lady
Red explained that mummification was similar to bondage, except
that saran wrap/fabric/tape takes the place of rope, and encompasses
the entire body as opposed to isolated areas. Using extra-wide saran
wrap (found in any supermarket) and a soft, sticky fabric called
vet wrap (found in most pet stores), Lady Red demonstrated the art
on a volunteer from the audience. Pallet wrap, a plastic wrap used
by moving companies such as U-Haul, was also recommended. A unique
suggestion made for mummification was to cover certain body areas
with cotton balls first, so that when the bottom is completely wrapped,
scissors can be used to cut the cotton out and expose the areas
in question. Wax play was also touched on lightly by Lady Red. Check
out Lolita's web page for a detailed explanation. For the coup de
grace, TES-TiNG co-chair, Boymeat, closed the presentation with
caning, which included yet another detailed handout for the audience
to study. Types of cane materials (bamboo, rattan), areas of the
body to cane, and variations to look for (A thick cane which lingers
on impact creates the best thudding affect, whereas a thin cane
that gets drawn back right after striking provides the most sting)
were all explained in detail. Assisting Boymeat was his lovely young
submissive, who graciously bent over for some "example" strokes
on her bare bottom. All in all, a vast amount of information was
shared, for which the audience was very grateful.
SHAKESPEARE NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD:
"Midsummer Night's Dream" Party poetic indeed

The "Midsummer
Night's Dream Party" held at Paddles proved to be just that:
a dream party. A wonderful buffet was provided, tarot cards were
read, and several gorgeous young ladies came dressed appropriately
as nymphs, faeries, etc. Professional bodypainter Vann Godfrey did
exquisite work on a wide variety of guests. The evening's highlight
was an auction hosted by Lady Elaina, where both dominant men and
submissive women (most of the latter graciously participating through
the courtesy of Master Jim) offered a plethora of scenes ranging
from flogging to single-tail to long, thorough massage. The Bard
said it best in Act 2, Scene 1: "A merrier hour was never wasted
there".

While the act
of personal grooming may not seem like a powerful fetish, those
who attended last Tuesday's TES meeting may be inclined to say otherwise.
Master Jim and his Little Girl Rita took a seemingly common activity,
the shaving of female pubic hair, and turned it into an amazing
presentation. Preferring action over long discussions, Master Jim
cut right to the chase (so to speak), laying Little Girl Rita down
and proceeding to provide a clean, close shave of her nether regions.
Audience members were provided with a detailed three page handout
downloaded from www.sfsi.org
(the San Francisco Sex Info webpage) that covered most of the important
safety tips one should know. For example, depilatory cream should
be avoided as the foul-smelling chemicals in them cause a severe
burning sensation. Also, applying a hot wet towel to the area is
recommended for preparation of both the skin and the soon-to-be-shaved
follicles. While there are various shaving creams and types of razors
which will suit the purpose, our hosts pointed out that electric
shavers should not be bothered with, as they are neither erotic
nor as effective as a straight razor or disposable blade. In conclusion,
while Rita pointed out that the stimulation provided isn't enough
to achieve orgasm, there are several aftercare activities which
can follow a shaving that definitely will. As TES meetings go, this
one was definitely a cut above.
ANOTHER VICTORY FOR SEXUAL FREEDOM:
Leather Pride Night lives up to its reputation.

Many people in the NY scene consider Leather Pride Night to be the highlight
of the year. For the 19th Annual festivities, it appears they were quite
correct. Leather Pride Night is a special benefit, and this year, raised
funds and awareness for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, Heritage
of Pride, the Pride Senior Network, the NYC AIDS Monument Committee, People
of Color in Crisis and St Luke's AIDS Project. Hundreds of men and women
covering all sexual orientations crowded into the Puck Building on Lafayette
Street for an evening of auctions, raffles, and most of all, fun. The
preliminary events included a vast flea market of books, magazines, leather
goods, and various scene implements, as well as a silent auction of over
twenty different products, including artwork, latex wear, and a bullwhip
valued at $150. There was a huge raffle for dozens of prizes, and all of the
volunteers who sold tickets made it fun and well worth the money. A $10
purchase allowed ticket buyers to have a strip of tickets measured either
around the chest, or from crotch to floor, of either the buyer or seller. For
example, a beautiful young lady would allow a buyer to wrap a strand of
tickets around her chest, while a strapping young man would have a strand
measured from his loins to the floor. Either way, it's safe to say that
EVERYBODY won by buying as many tickets as possible. Last but not least was
the main event: A giant auction of over 200 items, ranging from canes, crops,
and paddles, to tickets for the hottest shows on Broadway (such as
"Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "Urinetown"), to rare erotic photographs and
artwork. The entire auction was conducted by Jo Arnone, a jewel of a
presenter who kept audience participation on a constant high. Statements such
as "Don't make me work for it, just give it to me NOW!" and "Show some BALLS,
for God's sake!" kept the bidding high and the appreciative audience at a
frenzy. Overall, thousands of dollars were raised for the worthy cause of
sexual awareness and understanding for all of us wanting to express our
orientations to the fullest. Special kudos go out to our fine co-emcees
Lolita Wolf and Fred Little for overseeing the event. A first class evening
in every possible way.
MAKING A
SCENE AT TES:
The Spanking Group rescues itself.

When I volunteer to cover and write up a TES meeting, it's with the idea that
I'm not only giving good public relations for those of you reading the TES
weekly for the very first time, but also that I'm giving a detailed account
of the meeting for those who couldn't make it. For this column, it appears I
provide the story as well. Last Wednesday, the Spanking Group was scheduled
to have a panel discussion, but an emergency situation with group
facilitator, Michael, eliminated the program that was planned. As a last
minute substitution, a noted member of the group named Bill took over hosting
duties, and asked that the audience provide scenarios that spankers use.
Stepping up to the plate, I provided two scenes for the assembly, giving two
separate spankings to a lovely lady named Corey. First, as a state trooper
pulling over a speeder, I held night court with "Judge Oakwood" on Corey's
beautiful bottom. Then, at the prompting of the audience, magician 007 gave
his negligent assistant a well-deserved spanking for ruining a performance.
To finish the evening, board member Flagg took things in hand, doing a
military scenario with the gorgeous "Private" Red, who certainly earned her
army stripes under the attention of a thoroughly used strap. Not a bad
evening for a group that arrived expecting a discussion, but for me
personally, it was everything I come to TES for. So to co-founders Pat Bond
and Brother Leo, who no doubt saw my happiness as they observed from the
audience, we once again extend our thanks. We hope the newcomers who are
reading this will come to a TES meeting soon, so that they can know the joy I
felt as well.
