BARBARA NITKE PHOTO EXHIBIT AND OPENING

July 10 - August 3, 2002
Art @ Large, 630 Ninth Ave, #707, NYC
212.957.8371 gallery@artatlarge.com

Art @ Large proudly announces that it will host an exhibit of photographs by acclaimed photographer Barbara Nitke, July 10 - Aug 3, 2002 entitled Barbara Nitke: Twenty Years, An Exploration of Sexual Relationship and Desire.

The exhibit coincides with the filing of Barbara Nitke and the National Coalition of Sexual Freedom vs. John Ashcroft, a landmark lawsuit that seeks to overturn the federal law limiting free speech on the Internet. The lawsuit claims that the Communication Decency Act's definition of obscenity is so broad and vague that it inhibits the discussion of sexual issues on the Internet among adults.

Hailed by The Village Voice for her quest "to find humanity in marginal sex," Nitke has gained worldwide attention for her powerful photographs chronicling relationships between consenting adults engaged in sadomasochistic activities. A professional photographer since 1982, Nitke is president of The Camera Club of New York and serves on the faculty of the New York School of Visual Arts. She operates a Web site (http://www.barbaranitke.com), which showcases her photographs.

"My goal has always been to capture not just the deep intimacy and trust between lovers, but also the intense energy and passion of SM practices," says Nitke, who filed the lawsuit because she is concerned her photographs could be deemed illegal under the law. "I think that adults who want to see my Web site should have the right to visit and look at it."

An opening reception for the artist will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002, 6 - 9:00pm. Show hours will be Tue-Fri 1-6pm, and Sat & Sun by appointment only.

MEN, START TAKING NOTES!:
"Sex & The Submissive Woman" Panel has a lot to teach.

by 007

A bevy of vital information was given out last Wednesday at TES as a panel of five submissive women laid out in full detail what the scene means to them. The ladies April, CheriAnn, Ginger, and Maria, under the moderation of hostess Joannie Bird, spelled it out for any dominant man with the common sense to listen, and they are encouraged to pay attention here. First and foremost, be aware that a submissive woman IS a woman, a whole person, and not just a sex object to be played with and discarded. Second, as April pointed out, having a woman identify herself as submissive doesn't automatically imply that she'll be submissive TO YOU. Assumptions that chemistry occurs in an instant or that sex is an automatic part of the package are just completely unfeasible. Above all else, a submissive woman wants her MIND stimulated, not just the body. While flogging and other physical acts are nice, a faint whisper in a lady's ear can be just as big a turn-on, if not bigger. What makes a man desirable is his creativity, the variety of choices and options he offers, and the honest concern he shows for a woman's entire outlook as opposed to just her sexual preferences. Having no manners and approaching someone with nothing on your mind other than a scene will get you absolutely nowhere. These were the most important points that were made, and the knowledge is greatly appreciated.

HEADS PISS ON ME, TAILS I PISS ON YOU

by Fallen Angel

Wet, warm and wonderful describe both the topic and the presentation by Boymeat and Kate at this week's Switchables Meeting. As an introduction, he playfully told a story about an incident that happened at this year's Leather Retreat where he literally had a bevy of ladies empty their bladders on him. Boymeat then carefully explained both the joys and hazards of piss play. One reminder was that the recipient should have no open cuts and to keep urine away from your eyes as it can burn uncomfortably. He also explained that you should drink as much water as possible to create a lightly colored stream.

Boymeat, Kate & Luna had laid a plastic tarp on the floor and covered it with paper chucks -- also known as puppy "wee wee" pads. After undressing, Kate was on her knees, waiting for that warm sweet stream to pour down her breasts. Then, they reversed places and Boymeat was laying on the tarp. He made some male remark about lying in a "wet spot" as Kate straddled him and peed. It was a lovely sight to behold.

After cleaning up, there was a lively circle discussion where people recalled the first time they thought about piss play or tried piss play. A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
