On Monday, July 13, 2009 the TES Board of Directors held an Emergency Board Meeting, convened per the bylaws, at which it addressed complaints that were recently made against one of its Board Members.
At this meeting those complaints, as well as information submitted in support of them, were examined and considered thoroughly by the Board.
At the conclusion of the Board's discussion, Board Member, Richard Cordage
agreed that the behavior in question was not in keeping with the standards
expected of a Board Member of the Eulenspiegel Society, and,
after giving a formal apology for his actions, offered his resignation as a
TES Board Member, Co-facilitator of the TES TNG group and Chair of
TES Operations committee. The Board accepted his immediate resignation as
offered.
He resigned with the following statement.
"It has become clear to me that recent stress in my professional and
personal life as well as health issues have led to several unfortunate
situations where I fell short of the standard of behavior expected of a
TES board member. I deeply regret this, so I am stepping down from my
public positions at TES. I believe that stepping down is the right move
for both myself and TES. I want to thank the membership of TES for
allowing me to serve them, and, again, offer my deepest apologies to
those I have wronged." - Richard Cordage
Signed,
The Board of Directors of the Eulenspiegel Society
