TES Election 2009
According to the By-Laws of TES, the annual election for Board of Directors, Parliamentarian, and Arbiter is to be held on the second Tuesday in September. This year, the election will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Six (6) out of Nine (9) of our Voting Board positions are open to be filled this year. Four of these positions are for 2-year term, and two of these positions are for a 1-year term. Here are the people running for these positions.

For Parlimentarian...
The position of TES Board Parliamentarian is elected annually on a 1-year term. This position is also up for election.
Finally, the position of Arbiter is elected annually on a 1-year term. This position is also up for election.
All intentions to run for the Board of Directors, Parliamentarian, or Arbiter had to be be submitted in writing by letter of the nominee to the Secretary and the Elections Committee. The intent to run for a position must be received 60 days in advance of the elections; the deadline this year is Friday, July 10, 2009 11:59pm EST. Please take note of that date. No filings of intention to run will be accepted after that date/time.
Per our bylaws (Article VI, Paragraph 4): "An individual must have been a member of [TES] for a period of at least one year in order to place his/her name in nomination. Any candidates for the TES Board must be willing to have their real name used on TES tax filings, as well as any other legal document that would be required.
In addition to their intent, candidates are invited, but not required, to submit an election statement not to exceed 250 words. This statement must be handed in to the Elections Committee by Friday July 17, 2009 11:59pm EST. Once all the candidates’ statements are in, they will be mailed to the membership prior to the September 2009 election.
Notifications of intent and candidates statements must be:
1) Hand delivered to the Elections Chair
or
2) Sent by email to elections@tes.org and tes@tes.org
or
3) Mailed to TES at P.O. Box 2783 ,
Grand Central Station
New York, NY 10163-2783
ATTN: Elections Committee 2009
or
4) Left for Elections Chair’s attention at a regular meeting at the TES location.
(Please keep in mind the last TES meeting before the deadline is Tuesday, June 30, 2009.
