Flagg Passes
story archive
10/6/09
The Board of Directors of The Eulenspiegel Society is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Flagg, Monday evening 10/5/09.
Flagg was an emeritus member of the Board of Directors of TES and served as Parliamentarian for a number of years. In addition, he was also a frequent presenter at TES and well known in the community. Though we shared him with others we always considered him ours.
Flagg often loomed larger than life. He was a dynamic personality whose dominance was apparent as soon as he entered the room. He was bold and uncompromising and even if you didn't always agree with him, you had to respect him. During his long bout with the illness that eventually took him from us, he maintained his fighting spirit. Through pain and discomfort he continued to serve TES and the community. He served as Parliamentarian until he simply could not physically continue and he continues to be the benchmark by which all future Parliamentarians will be judged.
His presentations were cerebral, yet practical and he could always be counted on to fill the room. He also recently authored a book, "The Forked Tongue - A Handbook for Treating People Badly" that was full of his wit, wisdom and observations.
Flagg will be missed by all those who he touched during his brief journey and our condolences go out to those who were the closest to him.
We will keep the membership apprised of any future memorial services as we are informed.
