TES Election 2010 - Intent to Run Notice
According to the By-Laws of TES, the annual election for Board of Directors, Parliamentarian and Arbiter is to be held at the September Membership Meeting. This year, the election will be held on September 21, 2010.
5 of 9 Voting Board positions are open to be filled this year.
Four of these positions are for 2 year terms, and one of these positions is for a 1 year term.
The position of TES Board Parliamentarian is elected annually on a 1 year term.
This position is also up for nomination.
Finally, the position of Arbiter is elected annually for a 1 year term.
This position is also up for nomination.
All intentions to run for the Board of Directors, Parliamentarian or Arbiter must be submitted in writing by letter of the nominee to the Secretary and the Elections Committee. The intent to run for a position must be received 60 days in advance of the elections. The deadline this year is Friday, July 23, 2010. Please take note of that date.
Anybody placing their name in nomination must have been a member of TES for at least one year prior. Any candidate for the TES Board must be willing to have their real (legal) name used on TES tax filings, as well as any other legal document as world be required. In addition to their intent, candidates are invited to submit an election statement not to exceed 250 words. This statement must be handed in to the Elections Committee no later than 1 week after the nomination deadline. All candidate statements will be mailed to the membership prior to the September 21, 2010 election.
