SUMMARY:ONLINE - Trauma Informed Kink For All with Ember Solaris
DESCRIPTION:This introductory class discusses being a trauma-aware kinkster. From being awareness of spacing and distance to setting up a play space and write advertisements for events\, all kinksters can use trauma-informed mindfulness to create safer spaces. You will learn what trauma is (and what it isn’t)\, how it happens\, about trauma dumping\, trauma reactions\, post-traumatic growth\, secondary trauma\, intergenerational/racial trauma\, trauma from violence\, trauma experienced by BIPOC/LGBTQIA+/minority individuals\, and more. Note: For education purposes only. This is not a therapy session\, support group\, place to discuss details of traumatic events\, debate the validity of trauma\, etc. \nEmber Solaris has been active in the BDSM community for about a decade. They are a social scientist\, psychologist\, neuroscientist\, and social worker. They research emotions/emotion regulation\, interpersonal relationships\, trauma\, addictive behaviors\, etc. They are also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy\, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy\, EMDR\, Interpersonal Therapy\, the Gottman Approach\, and more\, but do not currently practice. They primarily work in academic research. Ember dabbles in professional BDSM.
