DESCRIPTION:Do you want to start volunteering as a DM in the scene? Are you a staff member for an organization and need to brush up on safety knowledge in play spaces? Maybe you just really like wearing neon vests at parties? \nThis class will primarily teach community members how to bridge their own scene knowledge\, life skills\, and critical thinking to facilitate safe play spaces and deal with various situations that may arise as a representative of a BDSM organization. Some subjects that will be covered include\, but aren’t limited to\, maintaining party rules and etiquette\, advanced play and scene limitations\, equipment and dungeon safety\, methods of communication\, risk management\, professionalism\, consent and negotiation breakdowns\, scene intervention\, conflict resolution and de-escalation\, and critical first aid. \nAll experience levels are welcome to attend\, but please note that this class will cover many subjects that are above the novice level. \nBio:  \nYoungscientist has been active in many facets of the scene for over 15 years. He’s volunteered and worked staff for at least a dozen organizations throughout that time\, including being one of the few Pro-DMs in the NYC area. Knowledge has been one of his main driving forces\, which led him to start teaching early on. DESCRIPTION:Some animals are made to be tamed…to be harnessed as beasts of burden or coddled as pets. Some can only be sated\, and woe be to those who stand between these feral beasts and their prey. Others are runts of the pack\, knowing only the pathetic existence as the Omega. In this class\, we will discuss how to tap into this primal state\, the forms feral expressions can take and the types of play that emerge. We’ll also discuss how to move safely into and out of feral states and ways to take your inner beast to the next level. \nBio: Tower (fka Joshua HighTower) has been involved in New York’s BDSM scene for most of his life\, having presented dozens of times for The Eulenspiegel Society\, Long Island Leather and Roses\, and Conversio Virium as well as at events including TES Fest\, IMsL\, Black Rose\, Fusion\, Fet Fest\, Winter Wickedness\, and Leather Leadership Conference.
