SUMMARY:Rope Handling II - Refining the Details and Skills for Performance\, with Andrapoloutropon
DESCRIPTION:TES Members $5\nStudents & Military with ID $10\nReciprocal Groups $10\nNon-Members $20\nCash Only\nDoors open at 7:00 pm – Meeting begins at 7:30 pm\nPlease note the NEW LOCATION: \nAlchemical Theatre Laboratory\, 2nd Floor\nElevator access is available but must call the office at (212) 675-1390\n\n\nRope handling is one of the most important skills for a rigger as it can directly affect speed\, connection\, tension\, comfort\, beauty\, and precision.  This class picks up where Rope Handling I leaves off\, rather than focusing on large movements and concepts\, this class will focus on improving finger and hand technique to improve tying\, refining the use of some skills learned in Rope Handling I\, and introduce rope handling techniques and ideas for performance\, aesthetics\, and suspension. \nSKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Students should have taken Rope Handling I or have equivalent knowledge of broader rope handling concepts.  Please bring rope and a partner (or find someone to tie in the class). Beginners are welcome to observe. \n  \n\nBIO:\nAndraPoloutropon is a New York City based rigger with a strong interest in “floorwork transitions.” A self-proclaimed “style whore\,” he is fascinated by the myriad styles of tying and encourages others to make their own way rather than following a single method as dogma. In addition to style\, he holds an abiding interest in rope handling and is dedicated to helping people understand “why” various decisions are made in rope bondage. He has had the privilege of teaching at Shibaricon\, TES Fest\, and Bound in Boston\, and can regularly be found teaching classes on rope theory\, handling\, and style around the greater NY area.

SUMMARY:Hypnokink Group: Setting Your Subjects Up for Success with sex-obsessed-lesbian
DESCRIPTION:TES Members $5\nStudents & Military with ID $10\nReciprocal Groups $10\nNon-Members $20\nCash Only\nDoors open at 7:00 pm – Meeting begins at 7:30 pm\n  \n“I don’t think I was really in trance.” “But I was still able to move my arm.” “I’m a really difficult subject.” “I guess I just can’t be hypnotized.” Most of us have heard these sentiments\, from our subjects or friends or even our own brains. This kind of thinking can lead to\, at best\, self-doubt\, and at worst\, someone deciding that hypno just isn’t for them. How can we as ‘tists make sure that our subjects have a successful and empowering trance experience\, and come away from it knowing that hypnosis is a thing that they can do? \nIn this class\, we’ll explore this very question\, and discuss the things that ‘tists can do to help their subjects succeed. Some of the topics we’ll cover: pre-talk and negotiation; safety; choosing the right inductions and triggers; and how to respond when your subject says “That didn’t work!” \nSubject-inclined folks are more than welcome as well: we would love to hear your thoughts on these questions! And if you feel like a quote-unquote difficult subject\, we hope we can give you a new perspective!” \n\nsex-obsessed-lesbian (check out her Tumblr!) has been doing hypnosis for a few years\, nerding out about sex since high school\, and making bad puns since approximately forever. Hypnosis turned her on before she even knew what it meant to get turned on\, and the wonderful world of Tumblr taught her that it was an actual thing. Since then\, she’s been romping around the countryside thinking and talking about consent\, creativity\, and ways to do silly and sexy things with people’s brains.

SUMMARY:DM/sw Group: Overcoming Obstacles in D/s\, A Guided Discussion
DESCRIPTION:TES Members $5\nStudents & Military with ID $10\nReciprocal Groups $10\nNon-Members $20\nCash Only\nDoors open at 7:00 pm – Meeting begins at 7:30 pm\n\n\n\nJoin the DM/sw Group for a guided discussion on the obstacles we all face within our power exchange identities and relationships. Group coordinators Ramon and Jinx will be joined by special guests Sir Josh and Rosanne\, and Sir Vice and soumise\, all bringing years of expertise\, experience\, and advice!  \nEstablishing boundaries and limits — on both sides of the slash! — is a concept most agree on but sometimes have trouble putting into practice\, both within and without their kinky lives. How do you identify your needs and assert them for yourself\, while not imposing upon the limits of others? Are you resolving your issues or enabling them? Is your D/s dynamic helping or hindering you? \nWhile this discussion will include sharing our personal and interpersonal struggles\, the focus will be on realizing what our obstacles really are and what actually works in overcoming them.
