ONLINE – Art of the Scene: Crafting the Moment

A well-crafted scene is more than just a sequence of actions—it’s a dance of intention, sensation, and connection. This class explores the art of designing and executing compelling scenes with purpose, creativity, and mindfulness. Whether spontaneous or meticulously planned, a great scene balances structure with fluidity, intensity with care, and precision with artistry.
 

What You’ll Learn:

• The Flow of a Scene – Understanding the beginning (preparation & meditation), middle (sensory engagement, intensity building, and surprises), and end (closure & aftercare).
• Art of Scene Writing – Moving beyond spur-of-the-moment play to create structured, intentional experiences.
• Key Elements of a Scene:
  • Scene summary and defining cast roles
  • Timeline and pacing
  • Props and environmental setup
  • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Understanding limits—medical, physical, and emotional
  • Choreographing movement and interaction
  • The power of music and playlist selection as a timekeeper
  • The importance of aftercare and reintegration
     

The class will include discussions, practical insights, and a case study of a complex scene involving all the items above.

Bios:
