October 22, 2019 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM DM/sw: Accountability Standards in the Scene Panel Discussion, moderated by Jinx Safety and consent are considered of utmost importance in the BDSM scene, however public discourse shows that people do not always agree on the specifics, and context can vary. The same goes for accountability, responsibility, and skill, though they are are not as talked about--but how can you have safety or consent without them? There is no shortage of classes, or expectations, directed towards D-types. The level of education, expectation, and accountability directed towards s-types, on the other hand, seems disproportionate. There also seems to be inconsistencies in the kinky community's rhetoric and standards directed at those who identify as Dominant Men versus submissive women (and everything in between). Join a group of DM and sw panelists to discuss their experiences and thoughts around this kink, social, and gender-related topic. Doors open at 7, class begins at 7:30. October 23, 2019 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM Past is Prologue: Leather Histories For Modern Kink Communities with Jewelweed We all came from somewhere, or even a collection of somewheres. But while the roots of our communities shaped our present and our future, they don’t have to dictate them. Come learn about leather histories, oral traditions, practices, and stories that have brought us to where we are today—then practice taking what speaks to you and leaving the rest. We might stand on the shoulders of giants, but it’s now up to us to shape the worlds we want to see tomorrow. Jewel (she & they pronouns) is a switchy bisexual polya genderqueer Jersey femme Daddy. She is Mid-Atlantic Leather Woman 2019. You can find them most frequently in the dungeon: co-producing NJ’s largest pansexual/queer BDSM party for the past five years with Conduit Enterprises; serving as a dungeon monitor at conventions; having tough conversations & writing policy behind the scenes; and educating on kink skills around the country! As both a sadistic Sir and a filthy boy who adores boots, singletails, rough body play, caning, roleplay, history, ethics & aesthetics; Jewel is proud to represent The Next Generation of the BDSM & leather communities: First as a TNG chapter founder & leader from 2013-15, now on-staff as International Ms Leather & Ms Bootblack’s Under-35 Liaison (since 2015).
