IN-PERSON – Breaking Down the Futo October 10, 2024 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM LGBT Community Center 208 W 13th St, New York, NY, United States In this lab-style workshop we will break down what a futomomo is, what makes it work, and of course what makes it fail. After working through the theory of what a futo tie is and some common elements of it, we will all come up with a brand new version of a futo and analyze it to see whether it would work or not. Suspension experience is not required for this workshop, but for those interested in it, futos will be evaluated for suitability in suspension. This class is beginner-friendly and requires only that you know how to tie a single column and a half hitch. One to two hanks of rope will be necessary. While this workshop is not presented as a self-tie activity, the futo lends itself well to being tied on oneself. Presenter Bio: Corwin is a top with a wide range of interests. He enjoys Japanese-inspired rope bondage, all manner of impact and knife play, as well as fear/sensation/humiliation/objectification play, and inflicting terrible dad jokes on his partners. Having discovered his kinky side from a newspaper cartoon at a very young age, he continues to pursue new and interesting kinks. A lifelong student, he believes kink can be viewed as a set of skills you can continue improving, from bettering your D/s communication to honing your spanking cadence. His most recent passion is community building and expanding consent-based culture in the kink scene. In 2020 Corwin opened Upline, CT's premier rope studio where he produces events and classes on a variety of kink-related topics. IN-PERSON: Bondage Basic Training (BBT) January 22 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM LGBT Community Center 208 W 13th St, New York, NY, United States Basic training is where every enlistee learns very little of very many topics, very quickly, to straighten out every rookie just enough to survive unit life in the armed services. This class is a similar approach to rope bondage. Participants can expect to run through the basic building blocks of tying somebody up, without the frills. We will cover setting the scene, handling and extending rope, single-column ties, double-column ties, chest harnesses, crotch ropes, how to utilize gags and blindfolds, and a few of the basic positions. It's rope bondage basics with a practical focus, leaving the participant to explore further after this class as they advance in their chosen bondage MOS. Requirements: Attendees to bring their own rope, shears, and a mat/blanket. The rope can be any material, ideally 2-4 lengths of 30-foot pieces and 4-6 lengths of 15-foot pieces. The space has no mats, and participants should bring a blanket or mat to tie on. Bringing a tying partner is strongly recommended; while observers are welcome, not all of the ties will be possible to practice on one’s own. This class will assume a functional understanding of consent, negotiation, and bondage safety, but no rope-specific prerequisites. Bios: Presenter: CadburyBunny has been doing bondage for as long as he cares to remember, batting for both teams as both a rigger and captor, as well as somewhat of a serial bondage captive and damsel in distress at this point. Growing up on a small island about eight hours from Japan, he does appreciate pretty kinbaku and suspension. Still, he is probably more partial to being tied and gagged in any manner that is inescapable and authentic, using anything from rope and steel to tape and torn pieces of clothing. One friend and victim has broadly described his style as being whatever is needed to get the job done, and the subsequent desecrating and violating underway. Demo Subject: LadyPraise serves an important role as the foil and “yes-and” improv partner for CadburyBunny’s whacky shenanigans. She ties with him regularly enough, but there’s no promise as to who ends up on the receiving end any given day, as tends to happen when two switches race for the bottom. CadburyBunny is thankful, all the same, for all the chaos switch energy she brings – and for today, she will be his class demo subject.
