Notice of Board Vacancies TES currently has 2 openings for interim* Board of Directors members and one Parliamentarian. It’s a great opportunity to be a part of the change that you’d like to see in the organization and the greater kink community. Appointments will be made at the next board meeting on Monday, September 21, 2026.Voting Board (2 slots):Should be well-organized, hardworking, and knowledgeable about the scene.Is expected to participate in regularly scheduled Board meetings (1/month) and TES Events (approximately 3/month – in person and/or online).Be familiar with running organizations and events. Experience in a kink organization is a bonus, but not required.Candidates need to be local to NYC, as all in-person meetings are in Manhattan and some classes are currently accessible online.Parliamentarian (1 slot):According to our bylaws, the Parliamentarian’s responsibilities are to prepare an agenda and, in general, to function as the presiding officer at all board meetings.They need to be:Familiar with (or willing and able to learn) Parliamentary procedure (Robert’s Rules of Order***).A skilled people manager.Willing and able to act as the board’s “Cat Herder,” keeping board members and attendees on point and refocusing the conversations as needed.All TES Board members also serve on standing committees as chairs or staff. The ability to lead through action is critical to success in this position. Although only 1/10th of the overall Board, the ideal candidate for any of the positions listed above has leadership experience or potential.Per Article 6.6 of our Bylaws, we handle such vacancies with a temporary appointment until the next October membership meeting and election. The current Directors in office appoint the individual by majority vote. You must be a TES member in good standing and have been a member for a year or more to apply.
