Bondage

It’s the ‘B’ in ‘BDSM’. It’s the first kinky thing many of us ever did – by ourselves, with a friend, or even with a bully. (Or was it you who was the bully?) A length of clothesline, a few broad leather belts from Dad’s closet, a pair of fuzzy handcuffs someone bought as a gag.Do you remember how you started? What was it that turned you on – or got you off? Feeling your control as you sensed your quarry’s helplessness? Struggling against the bonds that held you, maybe trying to escape, maybe hoping that you wouldn’t?

Sure, we’re all grown up now and have fancier toys, but that doesn’t mean bondage is just kids’ stuff. Bondage is one of the most varied skill sets we kinksters have at our disposal, with lots of room for creativity and innovation.

Its applications are as varied as its techniques. What is bondage about for you? Is it about holding them down while you fuck them? Is it about capturing the escaped prisoner – or interrogating the secret agent? Is it about being encased in a warm, dark cocoon while your mind roams through unexpected places? Is it about being transformed into a work of erotic art? Is it about about weightlessness, cradled in a web strung by someone you trust above all others? Is bondage a tether between lovers, between Top and bottom, between owner and property?

Or are you still puzzling out all this bondage business?

Here at the TES Bondage SIG, we like bondage. A lot. We’re bondage geeks. We tie ourselves up when there’s no one else around. We have lingerie bags just to wash our rope. We buy Saran wrap and duct tape in bulk when they’re on sale. We’ll happily spend hours attempting to master a really challenging tie.

Several times a year, we bring you demonstrations and workshops by some of the most talented, innovative, and interesting bondage geeks we know, from New York and beyond. We try to appeal to every interest and to every skill level. We hope you’ll come to a SIG meeting – and another, and another, and so on – and that you’ll let us know what you’ve enjoyed and what else you’d like to see.

Happy binding!
